What an impactful film!
Written and directed by Seema Pahwa, this is a brilliant story about a family that comes together at the sudden death of the patriarch of the family. What happens thereafter forms the crux of the story. The actors are all realistic and play their parts to the T. Supriya Pathak, Parambrata Chatterjee,Vikrant Massey, Naseerudin Shah and Konkona Sen have important roles to essay in this family tale that tells about mistrust, greed and lack of bonhomie among the members of the extended family. The story highlights the dynamics and insecurities of the Bhargava family that comes together under one roof for thirteen days after the passing away of RamPrasad Bhargava.
The songs are soulful and full of meaning. Music is also amazing. The dialogues are impressive and impactful. This is an understated film that says what it has to say in a way that touches us. It was beautiful to see the climax. I specially loved the last line that appears on the screen just before the end credits.
A good film that I was waiting to watch. It is streaming on Netflix.
