Power Paandi

A film that portrays the struggle of an ex-stunt master, Paandi when he lives with his son and his family. He does not want to be a burden on them so he tried out different jobs without much success. The movie also takes us on a flashback to Paandi as a youth where he meets his first love. Senior Paandi does a great job with his role. His looks and mannerisms were just apt but I cannot say the same about the young Paandi which was essayed by nine other than the director of the film, Dhanush. He was such a misfit for this role. How I wish someone else with a sturdier built was cast for this role, it would have been more believable.

The storyline is good and it is a good one time watch. I loved the peppy songs and the music but the background score was a bit jarring at times. The film takes a turn and we see Power Paandi trying to find some purpose in life. Don't want to give spoilers, so just want to say that this is an interesting part of the movie. Suchitra Krishnamurthi has a nice role to play. The fight scenes are over dramatic and unrealistic.

This movie tries to highlight the importance of parents and grandparents in our lives.
I liked this one. A simple, clean movie that can be watched with our family.
