Thondumuthalum Drikshashiyam

What an amazing movie. The title means The Exhibits and the Eye- witness. The title is a tongue-twister and the movie is also successful in tugging and twisting at our heartstrings. The story is so realistic that after some time you forget that this is a movie and you get drawn into the story. We wonder where the story is leading to and also try to understand how we would react in a situation like this.

What can I say about the characterisation, it's simply brilliant and so believable! They are so lifelike yet so subtle and non-melodramatic. Fahaadh Fasil goes deep into his character that it is impossible to miss him. Even his eyes and his stealthy smile conveys so much! He steals the show but he is supported brilliantly by the lead couple. The expressions of every character, their emotions and their role in the story is amazingly captured.I must admit that the pace of the movie is a bit slow. Camera work, acting, storyline, background music, locations, songs and the dialogues are all splendid. It is a movie that should not be missed. It is a look at the politics of crime. I am so glad for the subtitles of these movies that give us the opportunity to watch such gems.
A must watch, I repeat.

Streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
